The 2014 season featured many record breaking performances. Obviously Bob’s name is one you will see a lot on this post, but folks like Matt and Colby were also involved in plenty of records as well. Oddly enough, the only person in 2014 to not be in any game that cracked a top-30 of any kind is Don, but now that I just wrote his name now, I can say he’s part of it now.

Let’s not waste any more time and show you all the records that were broken in 2014.

THE RECORDS

Becoming just the fifth person to average over 1,500 points in the regular season, BOB CASTRONE and his championship squad averaging 1,551 points, the second best ever, just seven points per game short of the record.

Scoring a career high, COLBY HALL averaged 1,496 points per game, the 8th best in league history.

Averaging 1,451 points per game, MATT NEATOCK appears on this list for a third time, producing the 16th best regular season point total.

With 1,448 points per game, RICHARD BURRIER produced his career high in regular season points per game; the 17th best in league history.

While he came up a little short in regular season points per game, BOB CASTRONE crushed the record for most points combined in a full season (Regular and post-season). His 25,509 points is the most points ever scored, crushing Neatock’s previous record by 660 points.

By averaging 23,512 points per game, MATT NEATOCK become the second highest scoring runner-up in a full season, 8th overall, scoring 23,512 points per game.

BOB CASTRONE (whose name will appear a lot on this post) scored the third highest scoring game with 2,333 points, owning Calderon, 2,333 – 1,171 in the quarterfinals.

In week five, MATT NEATOCK ended a early season two-game slide by scoring 2,275 points, taking care of Masterson, 2,275 – 1,271. The score was the 5th highest scoring game in league history; the second time Matt appears in the top-five scoring games list.

1506543_10202564163047207_1817139258_nHeading into week four, RICHARD BURRIER was riding a pathetic nine-game losing streak. The thought of a 2,000-point game was laughable. Yet, Rich scored the 8th highest scoring game of all-time, beating me, 2,217 – 1,296.

We already have BOB CASTRONE scoring the third highest score against Calderon on this list. Yet, that was the second time Bob crushed it against Rich. Back in week eight, Bob scored 2,179 points in week eight, the 12th highest scoring game in league history.

In week thirteen, RICH CALDERON ended the season on a solid note, scoring 2,163 points against Neatock. The final score was 2,163 – 1,644 and Rich’s score was 13th best score ever.

Consider one of the greatest regular season games of all-time, RICHARD BURRIER became the first person to beat a 2,000-point team, when he took down Bob, 2,117 – 2,089. His point total was 21st best game ever.

BOB CASTRONE became the first person in league history to score over 2,000 and LOSE. Stunning, as he fell to Burrier, 2,117 – 2,089. So his 2,089 is the 28th best game ever and the highest scoring defeat in league history.

The eighth and final 2,000-point game in 2014 belongs to MOLLY COOMER, who took down Richard Burrier in the quarterfinals, 2,013 – 1,281. Her points were the 39th best score in league history.

It’s BOB CASTRONE again…when you score a lot of points, you tend to kick some ass. When Bob crushed Calderon in week eight, 2,179 – 650, his 1,529-point victory was the second greatest ass-kicking ever.

RICHARD BURRIER beat Griff by 1,294 points in week four, the 7th best ass-kicking in league history.

It’s BOB CASTRONE crushing Calderon again, this time by 1,162 points, the 11th biggest victory in league history.

jeffIn week seven, JEFF GREENBLATT ended a two-game losing streak, owning Masterson by 1,137 points…Jeff’s biggest career ass-kicking and the league’s 14th best.

Masterson got crushed by Jeff and he always got crushed by MATT NEATOCK, this time by 1,004 points, the 27th largest ass-kicking.

Prior to this season, the league had three 1-point games, yet 2014 produced two. In week five, COLBY HALL beat JEFF GREENBLATT, 1,405 – 1,404 in the first 1-point game of the year. The second one of course was the classic title game that featured BOB CASTRONE beating MATT NEATOCK, 1,495 – 1,494.

Obviously, when you have both teams scoring 2,000…records are going to fall. RICHARD BURRIER and BOB CASTRONE combined to score 4,206 points in their week 13 match up. That, kids…is the most combined points ever scored in a game.

In week five, RICH CALDERON and MATT NEATOCK battled. Calderon walked away with the win, but the pair scored the fifth highest scoring game ever, producing 3,807 points.

In week five, MATT NEATOCK and ROB MASTERSON combined to score 3,546 points, the 23rd highest combine game in league history.

Between weeks two through nine, BOB CASTRONE didn’t suffer a defeat. The 8-straight wins is tied for the sixth longest winning streak.

Between weeks two through eight, COLBY HALL failed to taste defeat. The 7-game winning streak was Colby’s career long and tied for 10th best ever.

RICHARD BURRIER ended his tragic 2013 season riding a six-game losing streak, then started the 2014 season with a three-game slide. That nine-game losing streak tied three others for longest losing streak in league history.

We have a pair of six-game losing streaks. Both ERIC VOZZOLA and ROBIO MURRAY went six weeks without a win. Eric ended his with a win over me. I ended mine with win over Molly where I scored just 868 points.

As we’ve mentioned twice before, BOB CASTRONE became the first person to score 2,000 in lose. His 2,089 was the league’s most points scored without winning.

MATT NEATOCK scored 1,664 in a defeat to Calderon in week thirteen, the 19th most points scored in defeat.

Despite scoring the fifth most points in 2014, JEFF GREENBLATT missed the playoffs thanks to the fact his opponents averaged 1,407 points per game, the 10th most in league history.

In what is a pretty impressive result, RICHARD BURRIER won eight games and finished fourth in the standings, despite giving up 1,405 points per game, the 11th most points scored against.

Just as impressive as Burrier above, COLBY HALL managed to win nine games and finish second in the 2014 standings despite the fact his opponents averaged 1,395 points per game, the 13th most ever.

ERIC VOZZOLA missed the playoffs for the fourth time in five seasons thanks to his opponents averaging 1,394 points per game, the 16th most.

Appearing on this list for the fourth time, GRIFF COOMER watched as his opponents average 1,368 points per game, the 23rd most in league history.

To show you how insane 2014 was, half the teams appear on the “Most opponents points scored” list, as ROB MASTERSON wraps it up with 1,360 points per game allowed.

Before the season went south, ROBIO MURRAY ran up a 28-game 1,000-point streak, dating back to 2012. This was the third longest streak in league history.

Entering 2015, COLBY HALL will be riding a 25-game 1,000-point streak, the longest active streak and fourth longest streak. If he can avoid scoring below 1,000 in 2015, he’ll own the record out-right.

Since technically this streak ended in week one of 2014, it goes on this list. When BOB CASTRONE failed to hit 1,000 in week one, it ended his 21-game streak, tied for ninth longest streak of all-time. Of course when one streak ends, another one begins and Bob is riding a 15-game 1,000 streak, the second longest active streak and 25th best ever.

Dating back to 2013, MOLLY COOMER went 15 games without falling below 1,000, until week 11 of last year. The 15th is tied for the 25th longest streak.

colbyCOLBY HALL scored over 1,250 points in 16-straight games, dating back to 2013, tying Bob for the longest 1,250-point streak. He came up 42 points shy of holding the record solo in the quarterfinals.

Of course we could have a new 1,250-point record soon, as BOB CASTRONE is in possession of a active 15-game streak. The record could be all his again as soon as week three.

MATT NEATOCK actually produced two seven-game 1,250-point streaks. The first became at the end of 2013 and the second is an active streak.

Streaking over 2013-14, RICH CALDERON had a six-game streak of 1,250 points.

ROBIO MURRAY (that’s me) has gone 16 games without a 1,500-point game. That’s my longest active streak and the 17th longest streak.

The last time COLBY HALL had a weekly low score was week three in 2012. The 36-game streak is the 10th longest in league history. Of course, he’s still three and a half years away from breaking Calderon’s record.

Despite a lack of success lately in Robioland, JEFF GREENBLATT hasn’t had a weekly low score in 30 weeks. That’s the 15th longest streak.

In week three, RICH CALDERON earned the week’s low score. That ended a 28-week streak, the 21st longest streak.

Despite a horrid season, ROBIO MURRAY did manage to not get a weekly low score…until week 12. That ended a 24-week streak, the 26th longest ever.

MOLLY COOMER has won a lot of games since to 2011. However, she hasn’t earned a weekly high score since week six of that year. The 49 straight weeks without a weekly high score is the 7th longest in league history. If she can’t earn a weekly high score this year, she’ll end the season tied with Griff and Eric for longest streak.

He is already tied for longest streak without a weekly high, but now ERIC VOZZOLA has the second longest active streak. His 34 straight weeks is the 11th longest.
