While it might be easy to dismiss Burrier as a one-hit wonder in Robioland, that’s probably a bit unfair. Yes, his peak season was a long, long time ago. In just his second year in the league, Rich Burrier, lead by Tomlinson, earned a stunning title in 2003. The future looked extremely bright, as he would put together one of the winningest four-year stretch, going 35-19 in the 2003-2006 regular seasons, but unfortunately he would not win a single playoff game in any of the years after the title.
Now it’s been 16 years and Rich has never really put together a great team since those golden years. He’s never earned a first or second seed and he’s never produced a scoring crown, but he almost always finds a way into the playoffs. He’s made it to the postseason in 12 of his 16 seasons in the league, including seven of the last eight. Oddly though, he’s the master of the “barely making it.” He has “earned” the eight and final seed three years in a row and six times in his last eight playoff appearances.
