Robio loves Griff, hates Bob and is chasing history when he faces Don
Below are the teams that you have had the most success beating again and again and again, plus your least favorite foe and everything else you need to know.
MOST COMMON OPPONENT
Griff Coomer: 34 Games, which includes five playoff matchups.
TOP THREE FAVORITE FOES
#3 Eric Vozzola – I’ve gone 18-10 overall against my cousin. I was 5-4 in our first nine games, but between 2008-2013, I won six of seven, including the 2012 title game. I would drop three straight (2014-2015), but I’ve won eight of the last ten, including our last four meetings.
#2 Don Vozzola – I’m one of two people to have 20+ victories over two opponents. Don is one of those two, as I’m 20-11 overall against him. When he first joined in 2001, I won three of our first four meetings, but then between 2005-2009, Don beat me in seven straight games, including both the 2006 and 2008 title games. Since then though, I have gone 17-3 against him and I’m currently riding a 10-game winning streak, which is tied for the longest winning streak one team has over another in league history.
#1 Griff Coomer – Not only have Griff and I faced off the most in the league’s history (which makes sense as we are the last two original members still around), but I’ve sorta dominated this series, taking 22-12. I won our first five, which included both the 1999 and 2000 championship games. Through eight contests, I was a solid 7-1. Starting in 2003, Griff would win three straight, but I followed that up taking six straight (2006-2009). My toughest years facing Griff were between 2010-2015. During that stretch, I would only win two of our nine meetings and I would lose to him in the 2013 quarterfinals (the only time Coomer beat me in the postseason). However, since 2016, I’ve dominated again, taking eight of the last nine, including six straight heading into 2024.
LEAST FAVORITE FOE
I have a losing record against five folks in this league. I’ve had trouble against Michael, who has taken six of nine against me, including a loss in the 2023 quarterfinals. Colby has been a thorn in my side, as I’ve won nine, but lost 17 games, including six straight between 2014-2018. However, Bob remains my toughest out. I’ve gone just 10-21 against him. I’ve managed to beat him three straight times only once, but he has three 3-game winning streaks against me and a five-game victory streak between 2014-2018. He also beat me in the 2010 championship game, but I’m actually 2-1 against him in the playoffs, beating him in the 2008 quarterfinals and 2012 semifinals.
FAVORITE POSTSEASON OPPONENT
Griff Coomer is the team I like to see in the playoffs, as I am 4-1 against him in the postseason. While I’ve never lost to folks like Masterson and Burrier (going 2-0 against both), I have delivered four victories in the already mentioned 1999 and 2000 title games, along with the 2002 semifinals and 2006 quarterfinals. Since 2006, we’ve only faced off once and Griff won that one in 2013.
LEAST FAVORITE POSTSEASON OPPONENT
I beat Jeff in the 2013 quarterfinals, but I haven’t beaten him since. In fact, I’m just 1-3 against Greenblatt, dropping three straight playoff games. They were the 2016 semifinals, the 2020 title game and the 2021 quarterfinals.
LONGEST WINNING STREAKS
10 games and counting against Don, while I’m also riding a 6-game win streak against Griff.
LONGEST LOSING STREAKS
Don’s seven game winning streak (between 2005-2009) is my worst against any one opponent, but Colby has a six-game win streak against me (2014-2018) and both Burrier and Bob have defeated me five straight times at one point.

FUN FACTS
- Myself and Neatock accounted for nine championships between 1999-2019, but we’ve only met once in the playoffs and that was in 2022 (Matt victory).
- While I’ve never produced a weekly low score in 86 meetings against Griff, Don or Jeff, I’ve done it four times just since 2012 against Burrier.
- I’ve scored the weekly high score five times each against Griff, Don, Eric and Masterson, but I’ve done it the most against Neatock, who has faced six weekly high scores when facing me.
- As I mentioned, I’ve heading in 2024 riding a 10-game win streak against Don and a six-game win streak against Griff, but I’ve also won four straight against Eric.
