Below are the fun facts I discovered with a quick glance.

MICHAEL
After winning five of his last six postseason games, Michael is now .556 in the playoffs, which is only good enough for sixth best in the league. Oddly enough, even though only four teams are above .500 for their careers, eight teams are over .500 in the postseason.

ROBIO
I’m still first in winning percentage in the playoffs, but that success seems so long ago. In fact, between 1999-2020, I was 13-1 in the quarterfinals. I’m 0-4 since.

GRIFF
While he didn’t make the playoffs this year, that doesn’t mean we can’t find something to talk about. Griff has five career postseason victories over Colby, but only four total against the rest of the league. Nine of his 20 career playoff wins came against former league members. In fact, Griff is 9-0 against former league members, 5-1 against Colby and 6-13 against current teams not named Colby.

DON
Don has zero playoff wins as a 5-seed or better. He’s 0-1 as a one-seed, 0-2 as both a two-seed and a three-seed. He’s never been a four-seed and he’s 0-1 as a five-seed. However, he’s 9-4 if he’s seeded sixth or lower, winning both his championships as a 7-seed.

ERIC
We all know Eric is the only 8-seed to win a championship. However, he is also tied with Burrier for most postseason appearances as an 8-seed. They’ve both been the 8-seed six times. Overall though, Erich has just seven postseason victories for his career. Five of those came in his 2012 finals appearance and his 2021 championship. That means Eric has won a playoff game in just four of his 24 seasons (around 17%). Don sits at 20% (five out of 24), while Masterson and Burrier have the second lowest percentage with 22%. Those four combined have won a playoff game in 19 playoffs in 94 combined seasons.

ROB M
As we know, Rob’s .238 postseason winning percentage is the league’s lowest, as he is the only winless team in the semifinals (0-5). In the semifinals, Masterson only averages 1,095 points per game, while his foes average 1,645 points per game. No semifinals opponent has ever scored under 1,400 against Rob, while he has never scored over 1,400 in any semifinals game.

RICH B
Burrier is only 8-15 in our playoffs, including a 5-11 record in the quarterfinals, which is tied for worst with Masterson. However, nobody scores less than Rich in the playoffs, as he averages only 1,267 per game.

Fun fact: Between 2002-2011, Burrier scored over 1,500 three times and won all three games. Since 2012, he has scored over 1,500 just twice in the playoffs and he lost both games, including this season to Matt.

RICH C
If Calderon has a preference, it has to be the 2–seed. As the second seed, he’s a solid 6-2 as a two-seed, winning both his titles as the second place team. Meanwhile, as the 1-seed, he’s just 3-3 in the playoffs. He reached the finals as a 1-seed in 2019, lost in the semifinals the following season and this season, he couldn’t escape the quarterfinals. On top of that, Rich is just one of two people to be every seed at least once in his career. Griff is the other.

BOB
Between 2004-2014, Bob was 16-6 in our playoffs, winning four championships. Between 2015-2024, Castrone was just 5-8 in the postseason, winning no championships. He’s produced a single quarterfinals victory (2021) since losing to Neatock in the 2017 title game. Still, his 21 career postseason victories is second most, while his .600 win percentage is third best.

MATT
He’s won eight of his last nine quarterfinals games, which has helped get his postseason winning percentage up to .645 (20-11), which is second best in the league. However, he’s now averaging 1,524 points per game in the playoffs, which is now the most in the league’s history. It helps that two of his championship runs ended up as two of the top four most points scored in the postseason. His 2009 team scored 5,390 points, which is fourth most, while his 2017 squad scored 5,684 points, which is the most, thanks to a pair of 2,000 point games in the quarterfinals and semifinals.

COLBY
His seven straight playoff wins tied him for longest postseason winning streak with me, Matt and Bob. In fact, every team that won back-to-back titles, lost in the semifinals when chasing that third title. Colby earned that second championship in 2023 with Brock Purdy at QB. Michael won it this year with Purdy at QB. He became the second QB to win back-to-back titles on two different teams. The other was Aaron Brooks (Saints) back in 2000 (me) and 2001 (Jason).

Players who won back-to-back titles are: Aaron Brook (2000-2021) and Brock Purdy (2023-2024) at quarterback. Christian McCaffrey, Travis Etienne and Taysom Hill each went back-to-back with Colby in 2022-2023. However, they weren’t the first to go back-to-back with one team. Both Alshon Jeffery and Zach Ertz won two straight championships with Matt in 2017-2018. Yet, the original one team, back-to-back titles were the Packers DST, who rode Bob’s two titles in 2010 and 2011.

JEFF
Greenblatt has played 19 playoff games, but only three of them were as a three seed or higher. In fact, his 2-1 record as a 1-seed in 2016 is all that he’s done. He’s the only person in the league who has never been a two-seed or a three-seed. However, he’s a solid 6-2 as seeds five and six, winning it all as a five-seed in 2020. Since 2016, he has reached four title games. That’s the most. Matt and Calderon are second with three trips.
