Below are the teams that you have had the most success beating again and again and again, plus your least favorite foe and everything else you need to know.
MOST COMMON OPPONENT
Robio Murray: 34 Games, which includes five playoff matchups.
TOP THREE FAVORITE FOES
#3 Jeff Greenblatt – Griff has faced Jeff a total of 20 times and taken 12 of those matchups. The pair split their first four, but Griff would take five of the next six games. Between 2016-2020, Coomer’s struggles begun and he lost to Greenblatt in five of the next six games. Yet, despite struggling to deliver wins overall lately, Griff has actually beaten Jeff four straight times since 2021.
#2 Colby Hall – Coomer has gone 17-12 against Colby for his career. The 29 matchups are the third most Griff has against any opponent, thanks to six meetings in the playoffs (more on that later). During the early years, these two were about even. Between 2004-2013, they were actually 6-6. However, between 2013-2015, they faced off six times and Coomer won all six games, including three playoff games. However, since 2016, Colby has gotten the better of Griff, taking six of 11 games.
#1 Eric Vozzola – Griff actually lost his first two meetings with Eric in 2001 and 2002 and was just 1-3 after splitting two games in 2003. However, Griff would sweep Eric three straight seasons (going 6-0 between 2004-2006). The next four, Eric would take charge, winning three of four, but then Griff got hot again. In fact, between 2010-2016, Coomer beat Eric in nine straight games (tied for second longest win streak for one team over another). However, since 2017, as Griff has struggled, so has his W-L record against Eric. He had dropped six of eight until beating Eric last year. Overall, Griff leads the series, 20-12
LEAST FAVORITE FOE
Griff has fallen to me 22 times in 34 games. That’s a lot, but I’m not going to label me as his least favorite foe. That title goes to the league’s newest member, who replaced Marc, who replaced Griff’s ex-wife. Karma? Through six games, Griff has yet to beat Michael Evangelist and if he falls to beat him again in 2024, he’ll tie the record for worst start against one foe.
FAVORITE POSTSEASON OPPONENT
This one is easy. Griff loves to see Colby in the postseason. He’s gone 5-1 against Mr. Hall and those five career postseason wins are the most one team has over another in the playoffs in league history. It began back in Colby’s first year in the league, when Griff heat him by just 47 points in the semifinals. The following season, they faced off in the finals, but this wasn’t even close, as Griff won 1,882 – 739. The margin of victory remains the largest in title game history. In 2011, Colby stomped Griff in the quarterfinals, scoring a stunning 2,197 points. However, the pair would meet in the playoffs in three straight seasons (2013, 2014, 2015). Griff would win all three, including the 2013 and 2014 quarterfinals and the 2015 title game. This was the last time these two faced off in the playoffs.
LEAST FAVORITE POSTSEASON OPPONENT
Sure, Griff is winless in two playoff games against Burrier and he’s a not-so-proud 1-3 against Neatock in the postseason, but his 1-4 record against me are his worst. They include two title games defeats in both 1999 and 2000, plus a 2002 semifinals defeat and a 2006 quarterfinals loss. In the 2013 semifinals, Coomer finally earned a win over me (by just 67 points).
LONGEST WINNING STREAKS
Griff has beaten Bob five straight times (longest such streak against Bob) and those six straight against Colby I already talked about (2013-2015). However, Coomer’s longest win streak against one foe is the nine straight against Eric (2010-2016). That’s tied for the second longest streak in league history.
LONGEST LOSING STREAKS
Since 2019, Colby has dropped six straight to both me and Michael, but his worst losing streak to one opponent is seven straight to Bob Castrone, which is also an active streak and began in 2018. So yes, Griff is heading into 2024 trying to break his three longest losing streaks against one team.

FUN FACTS
- Griff has reached eight title games, but has won only two of them. Both came against Colby.
- If you take away Griff’s 5-1 record against Colby in the playoffs, they are 11-11 in the regular season.
- Griff has broken 2,000 just once against current members in this league in his 25 year career and he did that against Colby in the playoffs. He did top 2,000 twice against Molly.
- Despite the fact Griff has been in the league with Don and Eric since they joined in 2001, he has never faced either in the playoffs.
- Griff has scored a weekly low score in three of our last five meetings. He did it only twice in our previous 29 games.
- Griff has faced Calderon 27 times and four times he’s scored the weekly high score and four times he’s scored the weekly low score.
- Coomer has never produced a weekly low score against Masterson. However, in 26 career games against Rob, he has topped 1,500 only three times.
