It’s been a strange three years for Griff, who for the first time in his 20-year career in Robioland, has produced three straight losing seasons; two of which kept him from the postseason party. Perhaps he can’t win without Molly. Anyhow, while it’s not a Robio-style fall from grace, it’s certainly been a drop for one of the league’s top teams ever. In fact, it was just four years ago, when I was considering moving him ahead of Bob for the top spot in career rankings.
That was the year 2015, when Griff was coming off his second career title, riding a seven-year winning streak that saw him produce eight wins in all seven of those seasons. Seems so long ago.
Overall though, Griff’s stats remain near the top. Third in wins, fourth in points and fourth in playoff winning percentage. Of course, the cherry on top are all the trips to the finals. He’s the only league member to reach the title game eight times, producing two championships.
